Big busy week this week.
Hello there, with Halloween approaching, and all the school activities coming up, this week by far, has been one of the busiest weeks for me; Tuesday was able to run in the morning, but felt so worn out at the end of my run, that I was questioning whether or not, go to the run in the evening... I went, but wasn't "feeling it" I ended up trading with Jerry (remember we were meeting at Trinrun) well, I am so thankful I mentioned I was not feeling 100% and Jerry got a run in :) wednesday came along, and had to purchase things here and there, and the driving here and there, was exhausting, I started to think I had gotten a bug or something, Thursday still not feeling it, no run for me in the morning, I had dedicated the day to bake, and clean house (Friday was our Halloween party at the house and had to get everything ready) made it to the track and Miriam was there, she had to hear me complain, and she said, that what I was going through was normal, I have been running so much, the feeling of exhaustion was only expected, since she is our coach for track, knowing my "condition" and knowing what Saturday plans were... I'll tell you in a minute... she told us (Devyn, Shea, and Carmen were with us) to do 2x400 for warm up and we were doing 6x200at full speed with 6x200 of recovery (or slower run/jog) finishing with 2x400 for cool down. This was the work out I needed, and the one I could accomplish not feeling defeated at the end; so thank you Miriam!
Friday I worked at the store, had a nice busy day, made it home on time for the party, which was a success, we did our carving, took pictures, had snacks, and were able to clean up a tad, before going to bed.... which takes me to me awaiting Saturday morning, I couldn't sleep much, turned, tossed... you know how it goes. 4:15am and I was up, getting ready to leave, this was it! the day of my longest! ever! run. Put the cooler in a "secret" place somewhere in Clermont, and went back to Winter Garden, to meet the group.... Pam got there, the wind and the cooler temps, made it as well. And so we went, and so we finished strong! 20 MILES are in the books, I am thankful, and amazed at what our bodies can accomplish with discipline and dedication, what we can do with determination, being positive, realistic, encouraging one another, I am happy! with all this in mind today I rest, tomorrow I rest, and I'll see you on Tuesday at Trinrun for another 20/20 and the chance to win something. Will you come? text me, email me, fb, comment, I'll be there.
Happy running!
p.s. don't forget November 10, 7 Annual 5K. sign up!
This is us after the run :) forgot to mention average pace for the whole 20 Miles: 10:22! :)

wow! First week I ran over 40 miles!
Last Thursday Devyn joined me at the track, while she got there I did my warm up, and started working on the famous 800's (ouch!) not quite, what I thought it would be, I am hoping this coming thursday I feel better, I had ran so much this past week, my weariness and the heat probably added to it, we'll see) Devyn got there to rescue me from my second set of 800's, she did her warm up, and we started some ladders, which we both agreed were kind of grueling, it was hot! we finished with some yoga stretching (if you are able to make it to track, Devyn can be our yogi, she taught me some stretching moves that helped me a lot!)
With the date getting closer, the training is getting a little more intense, and I am so thankful I have been able to do my first longer distances with my friend Pam :) (Pam has said she likes running with me, sometimes I think I talk too much, but we all know that's part of me :) and if I am able to run and talk... that means I'm good right?)
We did 18 miles this past Saturday, and I tell you what, It was a challenge ( I think it had to do that I tried a new gel, and well, for those who know me , I haven't been able to breakfast, and I am sure that didn't help; no, no accidents, but tummy aches that I guess wore off as I ran, convinced that, that gel is not for me, and that I have to make myself eat in the mornings).
I am proud to say that we kept the pace at an overall 10:14, (faster than our last 16 Mi run at 11) the weather helped a lot, but being with a buddy, definitely makes the long run bearable! we celebrated with a banana from the Farmer's Market.
On my schedule I had a 7Mi on sunday, and oh boy! I was so close to call it off, but thanks to Bell (our newf dog, and that I got up to let her outside..) I got ready and left for my 7Mi.... after an 18 Mi the day before, have to say it felt great, no pain, and ran at a faster pace (easy 8:48 overall) had to push a little, so I could make it back on time to go to church (and did!)
This week, well, tomorrow I will be running along side to the ROA/Winter Garden Runners meeting at Trinrun at 6:00pm and going for a 20/20, I've heard they give out freebies, and since Tuesday is a little too busy for most of my regular attendees... I decided to give it a shot, I'll bring a report soon. Maybe this is something we can do on Tuesdays. Hope you can join.
Remember the 7th Annual 5K coming up on November 10th the prices are going up soon, so make sure you sign up!
Happy running.
Silvia.

It's been a while...
Yes, our group still very active, I have gotten a little "busier" (been running a LOT!)
Our group still meets every Tuesday and Thursday, and some join LBV Runners group on Saturdays to do the longer runs.
I was able to train at the ESPN track, (thanks, Miriam for taking me) I've learned a lot; and have to confess... I've fall in love with track workouts! tell you the truth the first time a ran on a track was probably a little over a year ago, had no plan and no idea what to do, it was hot, and just going around didn't appeal, the lesson learned from that time: "inside lines are for FAST runners!" track was full with runners and the only available line was number 1, guess who took it? yep! and I felt like a star! all the eyes were on me, as if they were watching a wonder...lol! what a disappointment, I can imagine them saying: "wow, let's watch and see how fast she is..... nah! never mind!"
After feeling defeated 4 laps later, went home, thinking, track is not for me!
Then I researched and found etiquette for track, and I laughed at what just had happened to me. It's all good, never went back to that track, and I'm sure no one that day knew who I was, and with that in mind few months ago, I gave track another chance, this time I knew rules, but still didn't understand much of it, completed the run... unfulfilled.
So what are friends for? Miriam offered to come out and "teach" (I call it training more than anything, but she taught me a great deal, I am thankful!) me.
This time, I did what I was supposed to, I learned measures, how to warm up, and cool down... and also learned that right after you sprint, yo do NOT stop immediately! or the world will sprint around you, so, now, I keep moving :) finish very tired, but with the understanding of "I can do this" and so I have, she took me a couple times to the ESPN track (2 Tuesdays) and my life as a runner has changed! although, I wish I could train at the ESPN (is such a nice track, and my friends are there, the energy is unbelievable) It is too far from where I live, and well, I am hoping I can help others on this side of town to enjoy the track.
Well, there goes the update! We have kept our training tuesday, thursday and faithful Saturday, some of us did Miracle Miles on September 22nd, what a great weather we had (compared to last year's) and the course was way better, no cobblestone :) better times this year.
Some of us also ran this past Sunday October 14th at UCF the 5 Miler, for me it was the first year in this race, and liked it very much, very flat course; looking forward to next year.
I will try to "keep up"here on the blog, but join us on Facebook and perhaps come out for a run!
Enjoy this pics,
First one is of Pam and Miriam from LBV runners, I joined their group through Pam, have learned so much from these two ladies, mind you I've become a faster runner :)
The second one is after Miracle Miles 15K, and the last one is from 5 Miler on Sunday.
